Ward, Vicki Bonner

Vicki Bonner Ward, the longtime chairwoman of the Elmore County Republican Executive Committee, recently stepped down from the position to concentrate on her campaign for probate judge of Elmore County.

One of the canons of judicial ethics says that you can’t be in a leadership position such as the chairmanship and a candidate for office, too,” Bonner Ward said. “So I stepped down last month and Judge Bill Lewis took over the county party chairmanship.”

Bonner Ward, who in addition to her work for the Republican Party, has worked in the state court system for approximately 15 years as coordinator for the Elmore County Judicial Volunteer program, said that stepping down from the county chairmanship would also let her devote more time to her campaign.
